Q: What are some of your fondest memories of TST?
A: Teachers who saw, encouraged and helped focus my talents. Off-campus lunch is right on up there too.
Q: What would people remember about you from your days at TST?
A: Probably for saying or doing something silly. Geeks weren't the cat's pajamas like today. Yet I laughed enough with the cool kids to have a vaguely charmed high school experience. In retrospect, of course.
Q: What did you do after you left TST ( in 1991)?
A: Studied journalism and worked as an arts and entertainment designer at The Dallas Morning News for just shy of 15 years.
Q: What led you down that path?
A: Writing grabbed my imagination at Trinity. Initially, my aim was to be like Dave Barry or Roger Ebert. But I discovered graphic design in college, which came more naturally.
Q: Was working in an Episcopal Church (now) deliberate on your part?
A: More kismet than deliberate. Something I missed greatly about journalism was its role of service to the community. Building websites and marketing widgets alone lacked that cultural connection for me. Serving a congregation gets me closer to the reward of day-to-day relevance in the lives of others.
Q: How do you believe you carry TST with you today?
A: Creativity was valued at Trinity. Thankfully, that stuck.
