The Trinity School of Texas offers a coordinated college preparatory program,
pre-kindergarten through the twelfth grade. The school nurtures, develops,
and stretches each individual with a broad range of electives complemented
by honors and advanced placement course in the Upper School.
The curriculum emphasizes a strong foundation of basic skills as well as development of a higher level of cognitive reasoning. And all of this is couched in a atmosphere of respect for one another; an understanding that we are a very versatile people of God.
Preschool: Our Preschool has been in existence since Trinity opened its doors in 1957, and it continues to provide the same outstanding care it has for nearly forty-seven years. From two years old on, our children are taught to value each other’s talents and gifts and to lead by example. Indeed, the seeds of leadership are planted early here. The happy and talented children who emerge from this program are the most telling indicator of our success.
In our Lower School, the healthy group which has since progressed from the preschool arrive in a place where their effervescence is nurtured and channeled into areas we often refer to as routine or foundation building. In addition to closely following an advanced course of study, there is a strong emphasis on the continued building of self-esteem in each child.
Beginning in Lower School and continuing through the Middle and Upper Schools, Trinity provides the finest in modern computer technology and instruction. Two multi-media labs afford students the opportunity for guidance by the Technology Coordinator in a wide variety of computer science course work.
Grade 6 through 8 comprise Trinity’s Middle School. The often overwhelming change which occurs in young people during this time is addressed through a program which continues to challenge and maintain student interest. A Visual and Performing Arts (VPS) sequence is included in the curriculum in order to place a proper perspective on the creative impulses in our children. In addition, a more competitive athletic program, involving both team and individual sports is now offered. The child leaves this setting with a growing sense of their identity, the world around them and their increasingly independent role with the world.
The close personal attention continues in the Upper School as does the rigorous
course of study. While higher level thinking skills have been emphasized in
each division, the student is expected to apply his or her cognitive reasoning
abilities independently. As their freedom of choices increases, so do their
personal responsibilities. Respecting the rights of others and a continued
emphasis on academic integrity fosters an environment where one’s intellect
and being are allowed to shine.
